An Evening with Danny. Almost 20K Raised!

March 11th, 2011 by Conor

On Friday, March 4th we were reminded of how amazing the people of the valley are. 200 people gathered at the Red Jacket in support of Danny Toumarkine on his road to recovery. The evening was filled with silent and live auctions as well as dinner and live entertainment. The Dinner was prepared by the Red Jacket, music was performed by Ryan St Onge and Heather Pierson, as well as Sauce- The music was sponsored by Remax Presidential. Dutch Bloemen Winkel created all of the “Dannyesque” décor for the event and George Cleveland hosted a fantastic live auction. We are very thankful for these amazing sponsors of the event that made it possible.

Flatbread Fun

March 11th, 2011 by Conor

Staci Blair and the rest of the Flatbread Pizza Company were nice enough to throw a fundraiser for Danny. They allowed and assisted the DITB crew (Which Staci is very much a leader in) to throw a 50/50 raffle and sell merchandise. Flatbread also donated $3.50 from all large pizza sales and $1 from all small pizza sales. On top of all that they were nice enough to do this during vacation week. The place was absolutely slammed for several hours. Tourists to the valley were intrigued by Dannys story and concerned for his recovery. For an hour or so many of them were surprised by the answer to the “So, how’s he doing question” when people pointed over to Danny who was energized enough to join us for a brief bit. Thanks again to Staci and the whole Flatbread crew for such a successful fundraiser! What a great company and group of people!

Shredding For DCT

March 11th, 2011 by Conor

Just about 3 weeks after it happened I am here to report that about 50 shredders turned out for the Shredding for DCT fundraiser that took place on February 19th. Between the merchandise sales and the donations the event raised just about $2,000. Everyone was in good spirits despite the blistery cold weather. Big thank you to April Deschenes for the poster design as well as Becca Deschenes and Jess Richitelli for hosting and coordinating the event. Also thank you to Cranmore mountain for allowing these amazing girls to put this event together. You are all awesome!

Time to catch up!

March 11th, 2011 by Conor

I have been back in North Conway, New Hampshire for the last couple weeks and have been overwhelmed with a combination of fundraising efforts, video editing, and continuing to unwind from January’s events. Today I am going to make an effort to get caught up on what has been happening on the fundraising front over the last month or so. There has been a TON of success in that time.

Success at the Fat Cat!

February 15th, 2011 by Conor

Yes, I have been a little lazy since I got back to Lake Tahoe. Had I still been in Montana I probably would have attempted to write about the huge success at the Fat Cat the night of the event. Well things are a little different now that I am back in Tahoe and able to unwind a little bit. A little bit slower and a little more emphasis on trying to escape the horrible reality of Montana. Furthermore if I had written it after the night of the Fat Cat if might not have gone over so well…

With the help of some unbelievable friends and the Fat Cat the fundraiser held last Wednesday raided almost $2,800! Everyone had a huge smile and was totally supportive of the cause. It was great to see such a huge turnout. I really couldn’t believe how many people both showed up but also emptied their pockets for the cause.

Thank you to the Fat Cat, bartenders, musicians, beer distributors, businesses, all of our friends that helped to organize the event and EVERYONE that turned out to support Danny. I don’t want to mention names only for fear that I will forget someone. You know who you are and it means the world to my family and I that you helped us out!

The raffle was a huge success thanks to all the wonderful businesses below:

Easier DITB Navigation

February 15th, 2011 by Conor

Not that anyone is anxious to relive the last month anytime soon, but I wanted to make people aware of a site change that I just FINALLY implemented. It was bothering me that it wasn’t easy for me to go back to the beginning of the experience easily. If you go down to the way bottom of the page you will have a much easier time navigating to older pages. Also if you are looking for a specific piece that someone wrote just search it on the right side of the sidebar to find what you are looking for. That’s it for now.
