June 26th, 2011 by Conor

It was brought to my attention that I forgot to post this video to the website so I thought I would do that just in time for Danny’s 6th month update. Most of you have probably already seen this but here is Danny and friends at the 5 month mark.

It’s been 4 months since Danny was injured back on January 3rd. This is how he is doing:

Rhythm and CeCe. Big Thank You!

May 1st, 2011 by Conor

Just wanted to take a minute and give a thank you to Rhythm snowboards (Matt and Pat Griffin) as well as Corporate Communications (Kim Beals). These two companies came together to make the snowboard in these pictures come to reality. Both companies were super quick to donate their time and money in making this project happen. The board came out awesome and Danny actually won it in the raffle at his own fund raiser! Thanks again to both of you for such and awesome donation.

20 Foot Slack Line 14 weeks after TBI

April 20th, 2011 by Conor

I was hanging out around the dining room table a little earlier this evening when along came a video from Danny. I didn’t really know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to watch things develop. At first I could see was a a thumbs up followed by some manpris darting off to the background. I recognized the birch tree on the left part of the screen as a tree from the house we grew up in back home in New Hampshire. I know from my last time home that there is still a slack line set up that has been there for a long time now. Danny was about to attempt a slackline that I wouldn’t even want to be in period. I was a little nervous when I watched him hop on. Much to my surprise, that was the only time for the remainder of the video that he would look even remotely off balance.

For those of you that don’t know a slack line is a basically a 1 inch wide nylon tight rope- It’s not easy to walk on. I can’t even understand why someone would want to walk on one in the first place. I have never had amazing balance and therefore a reason to want to challenge myself to the degree of slack lining. Danny has amazing balance; hence his successful career snowboarding and desire to walk on a slack line for fun. Needless to say Danny crushed it.

A little while ago I talked with him on the phone and he told me that this was his 2nd attempt on the slack line since his injury. The first one was successful and took place just before he recorded this clip. This was his first attempt with the camera recording him.

Sorry for the poor quality but it’s just a video that Danny sent to me.

Awesome work DCT! Great to have you back!

Success at the Eating House!

March 26th, 2011 by Conor

Thursday night was a blast! We had an awesome turn out and a great time was had by all. A seemly endless amount of food was donated by the Valley Originals. The food was absolutely delicious and didn’t run out which is always great. Entertainment for the night was performed by Livin’ the Dream and Audio Kickstand. Both bands sounded awesome and provided a great atmosphere for the festivities to pop off. Tons of items were raffled off which only made everyone even happier!

Overall $4,500 was raised. Tuckerman Brewing company donated two kegs of beer so all proceeds from Tuckerman sales went to Danny. Cranmore donated the Eating house for the night and the Valley originals came up big with dinner. Both bands played for free as well. Thank you to everyone that helped make this event a huge success. Volunteers, businesses and attendees all contributed to a tremendously successful evening. It was a lot of fun and a great night of celebration. Danny was in the house for the whole night with a big smile on his face. It’s great to have him back.

Below you will find photos that Drew Phillips took at the event.
