4th Update
January 6th, 2011 by Conor
The second procedure went smoothly. Danny is back in the ICU recovering at this moment.
They have temporarily removed part of his skull to allow the brain to swell without resistance. They placed the piece underneath his skin on the side of his hip. Now they will keep him in an induced coma for the next 7-10 days while they hope that his brain begins to reduce in swelling.
The doc was pleased with the way all aspects of the three hour operation went. When the doc decides that Danny’s brain has returned to its more normal size, they will close up Danny’s brain with the “stored” skull piece.
It is a total waiting game, but hopefully one that is now on a good, solid recovery course.

Conor, you hang tight. Danny is going to pull through this and be the happy, giving and loving person you know him to be.
My thoughts of you guys when you were younger and Danny was a little younger than you and Steve and running around your Mom’s house, puts a smile on my face.
Before you guys left Danny did the vinyl lettering on my car and when I tried to pay for it, he looked at me with those big brown eyes and said “pff, no way, not for Tootch’s mom”
I believe in the power of prayers and miracles. With all the love that is pouring your way, Danny will be well again soon, laughing that crazy laugh of his and touching everyone’s hearts. Please let mom and dad know my prayers and love are with you and always is.
Love, Nancy
